It Hurts and I Think I Broke My Funny Bone

"The Shred" has done it.

I just thought I was breaking up with Jillian but in the end she broke me. So I give. I made it through Level 1 & 2. I can not do Level 3. The jump training, the boob flopping, the lifting of something and then something else alternating into oh my gah it hurts!

What hurts, you may wonder? Not my muscles. They have the usual soreness of being worked and stretched but that I can handle. Nope its the bones. Specifically my shins. In addition to "The Shred" I was still walking my three miles, three days a week and on a day I walked and shredded... holy snikes Batman! The pain! Oh the pain!

So I'm taking a break from anything high impact. Still going to walk it out three days a week and do some strength training but it will be low impact. We're talking static lunges, push-ups, crunches, etc. No jumping or flopping involved. And most certainly no double jump rope.

I am kind of ashamed because I really wanted to finish the program and be able to say I finished it. But I know when I'm beat and when I need to change it up. I'm out of shape and although I'm doing my very best to change that, sometimes a girl just needs to put her feet up.

  1. You should be proud of yourself for making it this far and not quitting on exercise completely!

  2. Don't feel bad. I had to quit after the first week because I got a stress fracture in my foot. I'm stuck wearing a BOOT on my foot for the next 3 weeks, so I am hoping to pick up the 30-day shred after that...

  4. Well, that's what a healthy lifestyle does to you LOL. I'm sorry you're hurting, but glad you've now got good reason to put your feet up and take good care of yourself.

  5. Oh, no! A twitter friend recommended this for weight loss, but after reading this, I'm not sure I have it in me. Maybe I'll just keep drinking lots of Mountain Dew and embrace double digit sized pants. Good idea, right? ;)

  6. Way to go for sticking with it as much as you could - the jump training on Level 3 is TUFF!
