See What Happens When I Don't Spend Money Immediately?

Went to Amazon.com today to finalize the first half of my Christmas order. When I pulled up my shopping cart I had three messages:

The Fisher Price Sing Along Stage has decreased in price from $45.47 to $39.75. Whoopee!

The Leapster Tag Reading System Carrying Case has decreased in price from $15.99 to $14.99. Whoopee again!

The Tonka Bounce Back Racer is no longer available from the seller you chose, please click here to see if it is available from another seller. Damn.

So I clicked. Want to know what happened? Supply and demand happened. The toy that I had planned on purchasing for Cashman and is listed in all magazines and on the Internet as approximately $35 is now being sold for upwards of $60 on Amazon.

What the hell?!?!?!?

Now I'm off to scour the rest of the web for the obviously hottest toy for the preschool set in hopes of finding some seller that isn't asking for my firstborn. Damn that Jon & Kate.
