We had ample time to prepare for Arkansas Blizzard 2010. We stockpiled milk, diapers, firewood, and booze. All we got was a few inches though. Kind of a disappointment but the kids enjoyed it anyways. Except Sugarbaby. She's not all that sure about the cold. I think she prefers swimming and sunning to freezing and runny noses.
The boys and SUMS built this cool dude of a snowman. He fell over two hours later.
And here is what I know you have all been waiting for. The preliminary kitchen reveal. Preliminary because I ran out of paint and still have to finish two walls. Also the hardware on the cabinets is going to be replaced and the laminate wood floors still have to be installed. Oh and the dining room table is neither done or in the proper place. But...but! I did get most of the kitchen painted and SUMS hung my new wood blinds. So it is looking good despite the shocking color of red yours truly picked out. As we were applying it we went through various stages of amusement. First it looked like Pepto coming out of the can. Then it was more of a Mexican Fiesta red. It has grown on me though and I'm thinking it is the exact color of the barn that I see out the big kitchen window. Y'all let me know what you think.

When you said red, I wasn't sure...but I love the result! I like poured concrete counter tops after seeing them on PW's. Looks like you have a nice long space to work.
ReplyDeleteToo sweet, the gf and Monster. :)
Stainless is a pain in the dick to keep clean, plus every little nick and cut shows. And you have to find someone that is really fantastic to cut & install or you could be in a world of trouble. Go with the poured concrete. And I love the red!
ReplyDeleteI like the red and that owl paper towel holder is soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect kitchen red. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI've taken quite joy in following your remodeling pics/stories here and on FB...I have a lot to do in my house and don't have the talent or money to do it.
ReplyDeleteI'm living through you.
I love the red! We have a similar red picked out for our kitchen! It's kinda orange-ish red though...its called something with the word 'clay' in it if that gives you any idea. I love your kitchen though, its freaking adorable!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! And I never realized the owl!
ReplyDeleteLove what you're doing with your house
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the red! We have one wall of our kitchen painted red and I really wish I'd done the whole thing...maybe you inspired me! ;)
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful. I'd save up for granite tops.
