Happy Oven Day!!!

Today was a special day at casa SugarBritches. We gots ourselves fire baby! Oh the possibilities. Cakes, muffins, breads, quiche, roasted chicken, casseroles, pot pies, chocolate pies, pecan pies! I could go on and on and on and I'd end up sounding like Bubba off of Forrest Gump. Shrimp grits, shrimp gumbo, shrimp etouffee, shrimp blah blah blah.

I recruited the help of the two boys and made them my personal sous chefs for our celebration cake. I found this colorful recipe at Omnomicon and thought it was perfect to break in the newest member of the family.

Here's Cashman doing his best to stir it up.

The pans of batter going into my brand new oven.

The baked goods coming out of my brand new oven. Psychedelic, huh?

I finally feel complete again. I've got a bake sale on Saturday to contribute too and I am gonna rock that thang! After that, Ada's baby shower, which will be an all chocolate affair. Brownies, cupcakes, ice cream cake, etc. There is no stopping me now. Watch out waistline. I kid. I kid. Kind of.
And just because this is my blog and I can do whatever I want, I shall end this post with pictures of Sugarbaby enjoying the 75 degree weather on this gorgeous day.

  4. Congrats on an oven! How did you make it that long w/o baking?

Those cakes are SO cute. I've seen some exactly like that at Disney World (for like $5 a slice).

I'd love a recipe, but I'm assuming you used food coloring? We have to strap Eva in the car seat as a restraint for a few hours if she as much as tastes the stuff.
