Something Is Missing

This makes me feel old. This loss of my son's. The last baby part of him. He is six and this makes him feel big. So big that he doesn't need me to hug him after school. Cause his friends are watching. But this "first" he was so excited about, that he clung to me tightly when I picked him up from school. Grinning closed mouth as big as a closed mouth will let you. Then he couldn't stand it anymore, blurting out "I lost my first tooth!" Funny, he's too big for hugs but not so big that he doesn't believe in the Tooth Fairy. Childhood is magical. I miss it, but I'm pretty busy enjoying it through the eyes (and teeth) of these offspring of mine.

  1. *sniff* They grow up so fast. Isn't it funny how some things excite them so much that they will still hug their mama...

  3. awwww, bent has his first loose tooth...yes i know he is only 4 but my kids were practically born with teeth(4 months, and 3 1/2 months)which my boobs paid for trust me. he looks so grown up, which i know is not what you wanted to hear. glad there are some things in his life that are still mamma hugging worthy.
